I am happy to see that your paintings once again breathe and move...they have spirit and they are alive. Hopefully the emotion within the canvass reflects your own personal happiness, Aaron.

Thanks, Me!

And very astute..

I do feel as though I have managed to reach another level (no matter how indiscernible) in my work, and conversely, in my life. There is a load I have been carrying for far too many years that is beginning to lighten. Anyone who has carried a long burden will know what I mean.

Thanks, again. And thank you for your comments...

I am not known for holding back when I have an opinion, Aaron. I never have. You said so yourself many times :-)

You haven't given any updates on your planned summer cultural/discovery tour. Is it still being planned? If it is a financial matter, are you looking for sponsors?

Hey Me,

All of the above! I have been doing short trips thus far and have already gathered some great material, but I am waiting to post about it until I can organize it into something that is meaningful, or at the least, somewhat interesting.

Still waiting on increased funds, however, and I am exploring all the possibilities i can think of. It may turn out this "Summer Trip" becomes a year long obsession!

I hope you have considered having your gallery or a friend nominate your for a National Aboriginal Achievement Award in Arts and Culture (the application has to be in by September 10th). If you haven't looked into it, I'd advise you to consider it (http://www.naaf.ca/cnaf.html)
I am sure you have approached The Alberta Foundation for the Arts to provide you with a grant or subsidy to at least complete the provincial leg of your trip (http://www.cd.gov.ab.ca/all_about_us/commissions/arts/)
