I just wanted to repost this piece that I drew a little over a year ago of my friend Des. I haven't spoken with her for about four or five months. I hope she's doing okay.

She'll be 17 now. She was all of 15 in this drawing, nearing her 16th birthday. I'd write more because I think she has an amazing story...but it's her story and so I'll just leave you with the sketch alone...

ps. If you click on the July 2004 link you'll see the painting I made from it. I'm happy to say that both pieces went to the same very good and wonderful home.

This is beautiful. I love seeing the sketch and then what you did with it in the artwork. Stunning.

Thank you.

Personally, I'm a junkie for step by step stuff. I wish I had more of it. I love seeing how ideas develop. So many almost mundane steps to go from ispiration to finished work. It's like trying to follow the path of a bird so high in a blue sky, it is only a white mote reflecting the sun, disappearing and reappearing in unexpected ways.
