Edmonton Sunset

Sometimes living in the city can be all right. Despite the traffic, the tension, and the general brown slush mixture of city streets, there are these gorgeous, glowing moments. Maybe I should start a series of "sunsets from my studio window". One a week, at least for a year.

Monsieur Paquette, I was delighted to read your comment on my blog, and later discover that you are living in my second home town. I absolutely love the sunset picture. Edmonton has, I think, one of the best downtown views. I used to live on 109St and 102nd Avenue; my balcony was on the 7th floor facing east. When the sun went down--especially in the summer--the sunset would reflect off the downtown buildings into my apartment. I have a zillion pictures of it. Thank you very much for the memory jogger.

Stunning colours, it almost looks like a painting.

ap, no problem. I used to live on 104st and 98ave! Now I am far from the city centre and miss being able to walk for anything I needed.

jeremy, exactly. Some of the sunsets here are too gorgeous to paint. No one would believe it was an accurate depiction. (Not that I spend my time making accurate depictions of anything, but you know what I mean...those over-the-top landscapes that can be found in a kiosk at virtually any mall across North America)
